Cedar Crest Boys’ Tennis
Team Rules & Expectations – 2026 Season
Culture – Confidence – Attitude – Accountability
These rules supplement the Cedar Crest Student-Athlete & Parent Code of Conduct, which all players and parents are required to read, sign, and submit electronically. The policies below are tennis-specific expectations that every member of this program will follow. Being part of this team is a privilege. Every player—regardless of skill level—has the opportunity to earn respect through effort, attitude, and accountability.
1. Program Core Values
- Compete: Give maximum effort every point, every drill, every day. The scoreboard is not the only measure of competition.
- Respect: Respect your opponent, the officials, your teammates, and the game itself. We will not tolerate poor sportsmanship in any form.
- Own It: Your effort, your preparation, and your attitude are 100% within your control. No excuses.
- Next Point: Mistakes happen. Champions have short memories. Move forward with confidence.
- Team First: Individual results matter, but the team score comes first. Support your teammates at all times.
2. Attendance
- Athletes must attend a full instructional school day to be eligible for practice or competition that day. If tardy to school, you may not participate in games or events. Exceptions require a doctor’s note and prior AD approval.
- You are expected at every practice and match. If you must miss, notify the coach BEFORE the absence—not after.
- Unexcused absences from practice will result in reduced playing time or suspension from the next match, at the coach’s discretion.
- Three unexcused absences may result in dismissal from the team.
- Be on the courts, changed, and ready to practice at the scheduled start time. Late arrival without prior communication will be treated as an unexcused absence.
3. Academic Eligibility
Per Cedar Crest policy, weekly eligibility is checked every Friday:
- Failing two or more courses = ineligible Monday through Sunday of the following week.
- Ineligible athletes may attend practices but must attend academic support programs (tutoring, etc.) before practice.
